Who gonna check me, boo?

Ok...I don't even know what language this blog post title is. I just heard the words uttered from Sheree Whitfield's mouth on Real Housewives of Atlanta. I don't even know what that even means.

This week has been insanely busy. I'm having a party tomorrow night and I've had dinner events the past 2 evenings which have kept me out late.

Thankfully, I have an understanding husband who helped me run some errands and get stuff ready for the party. I sometimes *forget* to ask for help and forget that I have a husband who would never say no to helping me if I asked or in this case, volunteered.

A lot of my friends (and bloggers I follow) just took the bar exam this week. I haven't even started law school yet and I dread the bar.

In other funny news, I have homework for orientation for law school. I have to read an article "How To Read A Legal Opinion." Turns out, an attorney friend of mine who came into town this week KNOWS THE AUTHOR OR THE ARTICLE. I have no words.

Tot Casserole

Today was a rare occasion...Husband was home in time to eat dinner at a reasonable hour and allow me time on the treadmill and time to finish up my loan stuff for school.

Tonight I prepared husband's favorite, Tator Tot Casserole. It's actually a Weight Watchers recipe. Anyone want? Leave a comment.

I know it doesn't look to great (cell phone camera), but it's delicious.

Mentioning school...I have homework FOR ORIENTATION. And so it begins.

Hoarding

It came to my attention the other day that I really need to de clutter my life. While putting away some laundry the other day, I noticed that I still had a bag in my closet that I used when in high school. It was (using past tense as it was donated to Goodwill) a small Abercrombie tote bag that looked like it had been run over by a truck. I've been out of high school for 8 years now...and I probably haven't used the bag since. Question is...why do I still have it?

In a random act, I massively overhauled my closet. I have 1 large trash bag of stuff to take to Goodwill, a few things to try and sell back and a whole laundry basket full of purses that I no longer use.

I don't have a very large closet. This is major.

It also came to my attention while watching Obsessed that I was a borderline hoarder. I had shoes not worn in years taking up room in my closet while my wedding dress was in a box in the floor.

So the closet has been de cluttered. Let's keep it that way.

A Few Things

Since I joined Weight Watchers in August 2007, I've gotten into the habit of eating the SAME STUFF all the time and forgetting about certain foods I loved pre-Weight Watchers. One of those foods being--- TEDDY GRAHAMS! More recently, it was pasta salad.

My sister came to visit husband and I last night and had a bag of teddys. How could I have forgotten about this scrumptious, lovely treat. I purchased some at the store today. I went to the store to buy a few things and ended up spending $80. WTF.

In other news, no more Jon Gosselin People. This week--Robert Pattinson.

In other other news , Leann Rimes and her dancer husband apparently have been seperated. It amuses me the PR statements celebrities release when they get seperated or divorce...like "they remain good friends" or the newest, "they are trying to work through their relationship."

Seriously...if I got divorced, those vague, recycled terms simply would not do. My peeps would want the juicy details and they probably wouldn't by the whole "remaining friends" BS. I'm just saying.

In other other other news , KGoss (that's what I'm calling Kate Gosselin now) took of her wedding ring. Good for you homegirl.

Team Kate

I very much look forward to getting my People magainze every Friday. Lately it's been coming on Saturday (UNACCEPTABLE). I have a routine of always working on the crossword Friday nights. Yeah, it's dorky, but who cares. I've been known to finish a crossword in 10 minutes. This past week's cover featured none other than Jon Gosselin. I must say, I was an original member of Team Jon, but lately I've moved sides. Although I don't know Jon or Kate personally and I only see what's on TV, based on that alone, I've switched to Team Kate. I became a child of divorce at 25 years old. I get it, Jon, but now is not the time to go galavanting around Cannes or whatever with your 20 year old girlfriend and your Ed Hardy gear. You look like an idiot and I am tired of hearing about you and you are embarassing your children.

Hey. Everyone's entitled to an opinion, right? Personally, if you can go on TV and/or be photographed publically, you should accept criticism of how you live your life.

Ok enough Gosselin talk.

In other news, this video has been floating around and I wanted to post because it really puts me in a great mood. I wish I had been smooth enough to pull this off at my wedding. Our recessional was to "My Best Friend" by Queen. I think that was the best I could do.

Financial Aid?

Maybe it was the lack of sleep the night before or the fact of the early hour of my meeting, BUT I met with my law school's financial aid person Monday morning. I walked into the meeting thinking I would get some kind of "aid" to go along with my loans but no...I was given a sheet of paper confirming the amount of "loans" I was being allowed to take out. Aid? YAY? Such an idiot.

Where's Laura?

Why has there been no post since May 31st? No idea. Seriously.

I must say my summer of fun before school begins in the fall has been busier than ever. Not in the fun way to say the least but there have been some fun outings, so not all is lost. I kick myself now for taking 2 small trips in March and then blowing the rest of my dough on home improvements. DOH!

My department at work, comprised of 3 people, has now been condensed to 2 until January 2010. Which means that 1/3 of work not getting done is on mine and my co workers hands. So much for a relaxing summer at the office! I hope to make the most of my last few weeks of "freedom" as I say.

On the flipside, I am so thankful to be employed and I am thankful that my husband is employed, given the economy, and the fact that his line of work is considered a "luxury item" and not necessarily a necessity, he is constantly busy.
